In 2018 there were over 5,000 surgical robots in use at hospitals around the world. Over one million procedures were performed, spanning urology, gynecology, general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, otolaryngology, thoracic, bariatric, rectal and colon, multiple oncologies, and even dental implants and hair transplants. Robotic surgery is not a technology of the future, it is an active and effective technology of today. These devices are the tools of empowerment for the surgeon of the 21st century.
